Curlvolution 2015 Event Review

Thanks to Brown Beauty Talk Saturday morning found me at the Hilton Canary wharf for the 4th Annual natural hair show Curlvolution.
When I arrived to collect my tickets I was surprised to be given VIP wrist bands for me and my guest.
Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth I thanked the staff and headed off the ‘Passion to platform - the business of blogging'
Workshop which was hosted Laila 'Neffy fro fro' and Pelumi 'CFYH' by which I has previously purchased a ticket for but obviously no-longer needed oh well.
The 'Passion to platform - the business of blogging' was quite informative and defiantly gave me food for thought regarding the direction that I would like to take my blog in.
I also was for the happy for the opportunity to see some other blogger that I had me met at previous events.

One the work shop was over we were all given goodie bags containing ORS goodies than we had to run across the hall for an
interactive styling workshop hosted by Felicia Leatherwood who is a Stylist to the stars has been dubbed the Natural Hair whisperer.
I had previously met Felicia Leatherwood during the Brit Beauty mixer last year and found her to be very personable, informative and gave good tip for managing natural hair.
Once the work shop was over we made our way to the main hall where a
I would have to say that the event was a huge success with a bigger better line up of events and workshops which included a mix of UK and US talents.

 There was also a good selection of venders that included;
  Big Hair,
Mane Divas,
ORS
and A-touch which is the hairdresser that did my Crochet Braids who was even able to give me a quick cut as I had told her that I had made a bit of a mistake opting for such a long length.

The event closed with a Panel discussion, which was focused on 50 shades of brown [the inclusion of brown beauty in mainstream beauty.
Many good points were discussed and one of the thing I took away with me is the I have a choice in where I spend my hard earned coins and that choice is quite powerful and influential. If I am not happy with the service I am being given I will speak up and let them know that they will not be seeing my hard earned pounds again.
I all also try my best to support black owned business where ever I can.

Natural Hair Week London 2015 Event Review

This weekend the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square was invaded by hordes of natural and fabulous for the natural hair week.
Launched in Spring 2013 and Co-founded by Author of the book 'I grew it long' Diane Hall and creator of the hair & beauty blog 'Officially Natural' Vinna Best, 'The natural hair week' has quickly gained momentum among Natural haired honeys.

Silently cursing myself for being late as I arrived at the venue I was not surprised to see the venue with women eagerly looking at all the natural hair exhibitors. On arrival I was greeted by the staff and given a raffle ticket (Which I lost ) and a goodie bag (I was a VIP ticket holder you know) which included a bottle of Hairfinity (Woop).
I was not surprised to see the venue packed with ladies eagerly looking at all the natural hair exhibitors from Cantu to ORS, checking out the hair demonstrations and taking in the seminars and workshops.
Unfortunately as I arrived so late I didn't really get to attend any of the seminars or workshops but I enjoyed checking out the products on offer many of which were being sold at discount prices especially for The Natural Hair Week even thought I was not meant to be spending money this month I did indulge …..
I do regret not buying anything from Cantu because when I got home and tried out some of the samples they smelled lovely and left my hair feeling super soft.
There were also.
I really enjoyed myself at this event I just wish I arrived earlier and brought more cash with me.
Did you attend The natural hair week?
