Microfoliant by Dermalogica Product Review

Dermalogica Microfoliant is one of the few products in my bathroom that I can honestly say I use every day and have yet to find an alternative for.

Dermalogica Microfoliant It’s a powder that contains exfoliating enzymes based on rice and papaya which make it very effective at lifting dead skin cells and smoothing the skin leaving your skin feeling amazing! It is also great at fading scars and pigmentation.
You only need a little amount and use a little water (Or a facial wash) then mix into a paste to activate the exfoliating properties.

Dermalogica states it’s gentle enough to use twice a day everyday but if I am not having any break outs or oily skin problems I use it either daily or every other day (People with sensitive skin or dry skin may want to use it less frequently)
The price is a little steep at around £40 for 75g so I would recommend you ask for samples at your local Dermalogica concession before investing.

What skin product can you not live without?

Blot Powder Pressed –Deep Dark by MAC Product Review

After complaining about my oily skin which I do not like to touch up during the day a MAC artist recommended I try a Blot powder throughout the day instead of using my Studio fix

Here we go..

Described by MAC as:
A unique pressed powder designed primarily to provide shine control without adding any noticeable colour or texture. Sets foundation, finishes faces. For use in professional situations and for frequent touch-ups. Blot Powder contains Mica and Silica to adsorb excess oils and reduce shine on the skin's surface. Can be applied with the puff that comes in the compact or with a powder brush like #129 Powder/Blush Brush. Perfect for touching up Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation throughout the day.

Even though the shade is Deep Dark it actually comes up translucent so I didn’t bother with a swatch.
Here is me first thing after applying my make up  on route to work
Me a few hours later (About 12pm)  looking a lil bit shiny
After my touch up

Two hours after touch up
And this is the shine absorbing sheet I used right after taking the picture lol
(Told you my skin was oily)

I would say that the Blot powder works well as I did a lot of running up and down in the time between applying it and the last picture so I would have expected my skin to look a lot oiler than it did.

I’m interested to see how the product holds up when it gets warmer.

What do you do to combat oily skin throughout the day?

Vegas Volt by MAC Product Review

Feeling like I need to inject more colour into my makeup pallet I decided to try out Vegas Volt

Described by MAC as:
"Full power coral (Amplified Creme)"

In the tube I like this orange-coral shade with rich, intense colour however I don’t think it does much for my complexion.
However I do find the lipstick very moisturising and requires only a couple applications for full coverage.
I would recommend a lip pencil to make sure the lines are sharp and neat.
What do you guys think does it suite me?
Have you tried this shade?
How did you find it?

Viva Glam V by Mac Lipstick Review

Another MAC gem I forgot about ...................... I bought Viva Glam V to wear on my birthday and got a
little scare when the sales staff in MAC Covent garden rang a bell
and then everybody cheered!
Described on the MAC website as:
In March 2004, Viva Glam V makes its debut, a pure neutral pink with a delicious Lustre finish! Every cent of the selling price of VIVA GLAM Lipstick and Lipglass is donated to the M·A·C AIDS Fund to support men, women, and children living with HIV and AIDS.

with flash
Viva Glam V is a lovely nude colour with a subtle hint of gold glitter which is lovely for every day or night time if you were to go with a dramatic eye and didn’t what to do too much with the lips.
Swatch on my hand
It goes on well and left my lips feeling moisturized without feeling sticky and didn’t require too many applications.
Viva Glam V is available for purchase at MAC Cosmetics
Its also nice to know that my makeup obsession is helping a good cause

What’s your fave Viva Glam shade?

ORS #Hairvolution Event Review

Over the weekend I was invited down to the All Star Lanes Bowling Alley (In a private room) in Brick lane by ORS (Formally known as Organic Root Stimulator) for their newest products launch a Straightening & Straightening Treatment which is a part of the HAIRepair range.

I hobbled sown to the event after a day in killer heels at the Vogue Festival feeling self-conscious about my bowling skills but ended up having a fantastic time.
Looking sexy in the bowling shoes my feet were very thankful
There was great food and cocktails
Scalp scrub making station
ORS Brand Ambassadors

I made my own hair scrub, met some lovely fellow bloggers and the glamorous ORS ambassadors.
Our private bowling lanes
I even did better than I anticipated in the bowling competition (even though I didn’t win).
I didn't have the lowest bowling score
I have been using products from ORS for years now and I’m ashamed to say that they are such a staple in my hair routine that it never even occurred to me to blog about them

Step 1: Prepare hair with the Clarifying Shampoo.
Step 2: Treat & Protect with the Foam Activator and Smooth & Seal Leave-in Conditioner.
Step 3: Seal & Smooth with your blow dryer and flat iron

The Straightening &  Strengthening  Treatment really appealed to me as I have been stretching out my relaxers and have recently been considering going natural but I didn’t want to be constricted to one style but at the same time was slightly concerned as I have been avoiding putting heat on my hair.

At the end of the night all of the attendees were given goodie bags containing the Straightening & Strengthening Treatment and some other hair repair goodies

I will defiantly try this out when I take down my braids.

ORS Straightening and strengthening Treatment is available in your local hair shop
Apologies about my photos I wanted to look all snazzy at the Vogue Festival and my phone battery was completely dead and my small Samsung camera obviously didn’t handle the job :(

Vogue Festival Day One

This weekend I was gifted tickets to the Vogue festival from a new friend
Whoopee

I had heard of the Vogue festival but was on holiday during the last one L
Early on the Saturday morning I made my way down to South Bank not quite knowing what to expect but very excited for a jam packed day of fashion!

I had tickets to the following panel discussion
Personal Style and do you have it
The power of two in fashion
The Philo factor reinventing cool
My fashion life
Valentino King of Glamour

When I got to the Elizabeth hall at the Southbank I was greeted doormen dressed in the green Harrods uniform and ushered through to foyer, unfortunately I was late for Personal Style and do you have it panel discussion and was not allowed to enter so instead I checked out the 1st floor foyer.
I was a bit underwhelmed with the turn out as the foyer seemed very empty forgetting that it was around

10.45 on a Saturday morning . I took the opportunity to check out the gift shop where I chose a Vogue sweatshirt and a magazine subscription but ….damn  credit card reader is not working! I then had to quickly run to the nearest cash point machine in my heels J  and come back to pay.
Delish
As well as the gift shop there was:
Makers overs being offered by Burberry
Hairstyling  by Kérastase
The Vogue Monogram Manicures with OPI
Show & Tell: bring your design to Vogue and get personal feedback
The Vogue Café
Book signings by this year's speakers
Harrods Re-Charge Lounge and Juice Bar
Vogue fashion editors giving styling demonstrations
I wish I got a makeover when I first got there but was happy I had already picked up my Vogue goodies because it felt like I blinked then the foyer was absolutely packed!
I got to see a talk about how to wear a white shirt

which was quite good before going down stairs to have a Vogue cover shoot with Chanel make-up and accessories. I chose a black and grey tweed jacket and the perfume bottle clutch and struck pose cheese!
Cover Girl

I then wanted to watch other attendees strut their stuff on the catwalk but one of the members of staff tried to get me to go on the catwalk which scared me off (Yes I am a wimp)
Crowds

Waiting patently for the My Fashion Life  Panel Discussion to start
My Fashion Life discussion

Angela Missoni My Fashion Life
Tory Birch My Fashion Life
Manolo blahnik My Fashion Life

The my only criticisms for the day was credit card readers were not working and there was not enough places to sit down and wait between the panel discussion my poor feet were killing me by the end of the day but I couldn’t not wear heels … its Vogue darling
Did you get down to the Vogue Festival?
How did you find it?

Please excuse my picture quality I wanted to carry my cute fringe clutch which of course wouldn’t accommodate my SLR camera or my iPad, of course my iPhone battery died and my cute pink little Samsung camera was just not up to the job L
